Welcome to the after school special that is my life. I teach from 7:00am-2:30pm, and here is where I will recount everything that I do from 2:30-10pm. Life as an elementary school teacher is never dull. In fact, sometimes it feels a little bit like a television show, and I wish that it was one from the 90’s with filler episodes. Alas, I’m stuck in a 2020’s Netflix eight episode special in which every episode impacts the plot. And that’s okay because I love what I do. Really and truly, aside from the 7:10am start time. However, it’s not my whole identity, so this isn’t a teacher blog. It’s an anti-workaholic, I need to make some changes to my life and a find my joy outside of the classroom.Because, while those kiddos that I get to teach mean the world to me, there’s so much out there to discover.

My goal for this year is to reclaim my after school hours and leave behind overworking. At least that’s what my therapist told me I needed to do. So here I am trying. I love writing, reading, movie-watching, baking (am trying to learn to love cooking), and traveling. I will regale you with tales of mundane moments and grand galavants. I’m excited to see what this adventure brings me, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride.
